Shred and Recycle Events: Spring is close enough to smell the pollen, which means the time for Arsenal’s annual paper shredding and electronics recycling events have arrived. On Saturday, April 11, the North County (Florissant) branch and the Mid County (Webster Groves) branch will hold the first event in our spring recycling series. All Arsenal members, as well as local residents and businesses, are invited to bring their confidential documents and other paper items to these branches between 9 a.m. and noon for free onsite shredding by American Document Destruction, a local business that is AAA certified by the National Association for Information Destruction. At the same time, electronics – computers, printers, fax machines, appliances, TVs, VCRs, etc. – can be dropped off for recycling by RNA Worldwide, a certified computer and electronics recycler. Anything that has a plug or operates on batteries is accepted; light bulbs are not accepted. Because of environmental management costs, a $15 fee will be assessed by RNA Worldwide for each TV and/or computer monitor dropped off for recycling. There is no charge, however, for all other types of electronics. Due to differences between EPA regulations in Missouri and Illinois, no fees will be charged for TVs and computer monitors dropped off at our Swansea branch, but there is a limit of two per vehicle at our Illinois event. Remaining dates and locations for Arsenal’s spring shred and recycle events can be found below. We hope to see you there!
