Our Purpose

The purpose of Arsenal Credit Union is to "promote thrift among its members by affording them an opportunity for accumulating their savings, to create for them a source of credit at fair and reasonable rates of interest; to provide the opportunity for the members to use and control their money for their mutual benefit; to educate members in the prudent use of money and credit; to operate in the spirit of cooperation and not for profit; to improve the community in which it operates; and to provide other fiscal and financial services."

As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are committed to the best and finest interests of our members and to the credit union philosophy of people helping people. These are our promises: 

• To uphold our fundamental responsibility to serve the people within our field of membership and, as appropriate, the communities they live in
• To treat our members with respect, with dignity, with unreserved honesty and fairness, as we ourselves wish to be treated
• To promote community development in all of the areas we conduct business and to provide affordable financial services to moderate- to low-income people
• To offer services designed to improve the economic and social well-being of our members from all socio-economic backgrounds, including those with low and moderate incomes, irrespective of age, race, ethnic origin, or gender
• To maintain a staff of employees and volunteers reflecting the socio-economic diversity of our members
• To employ the latest technology allowing our members access to their finances anywhere, anytime, while still maintaining convenient office hours for members desiring person-to-person services
• To assist in the financial education of our members and of the consumers in our community
• To educate our members and consumers about our unique credit union philosophy and values
• To hold our credit union on a financial course that is sound, stable, and competitive
• To encourage the professional, educational growth of our employees and volunteers
• To be an active partner in the many organizations of the community and, when feasible, to support those organizations with budgeted allowances
